Knights Lose Heartbreaker

The Niagara Knights men's basketball team suffered a heartbreaking 71-70 loss to the Sheridan Bruins on Saturday, November 10th. The Bruins needed a desperation 3-point shot to secure the victory.

Adding to the Knights' frustration was a 4th quarter injury suffered by 6-foot guard Jimmy Bilenga. The 2nd year General Business student suffered a knee injury during a collision with a Bruins player. Bilenga had 14 points before exiting the game.

The Knights led throughout the contest, and had a 2-point lead with 4 seconds remaining. The Bruins however, secured a defensive rebound, moved the ball up court and Andrew Stephenson made an off balance desperation 3-point shot at the buzzer to secure the win.

Alex Campbell recorded another strong game for the Knights finishing the contest with 17 points and 3 assists. Current Male Athlete of the Week Anto Raic added 12 points, 4 rebounds and a block.

Moving forward the Knights will get a few days off before hosting the Redeemer Royals at the Welland campus athletic centre on Thursday, November 15th at 8:00pm. The Knights will also host the Lambton Lions on Sunday, November 18th at 3:00pm.

All Knights' homes games are free admission, and for those not in attendance all games are broadcast and archived at www.sportslive.ca
