Knights win 2-OT Thriller

Knights win 2-OT Thriller

The 3-2 Niagara College Knights men's basketball team got back into the win column earning a dramatic double overtime victory over the visiting Redeemer Royals.

Leading the way for the Knights was 2nd year guard Alex Campbell. The 6-foot-1 General Arts student finished the game with 30 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists.

The exciting back and forth affair saw the Knights trailing by 6 points in the first overtime with just 1:30 remaining.  Clutch free throw shooting by Campbell, and a pair of fast break baskets by Darrington Clarke allowed the Knights to stay alive and force a second overtime period.

For the second time in as many home games, 6-foot-4 forward Marako Lundy provided the Knights' late game heroics. The Nassau, Bahamas native hit a pair of 3-pointers late the second overtime which proved to be the difference in the contest.

Current Niagara College Male Athlete of the Week Anto Raic continued his outstanding play, recording 18 points and 22 rebounds. Also having a strong game for the Knights was 6-foot-1 guard Ashton Stephenson. The 2nd year Law and Security student finished the game with 17 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists.

The Knights have just one day off before their next game on Sunday, November 18th at 3:00pm when the team hosts the 1-3 Lambton Lions.

All Knights' varsity home games feature free admission, and are live broadcasted and archived at www.sportslive.ca.
