Knights Earn Impressive Victory

The 4-2 Niagara College Knights men's basketball team won their second consecutive game on Sunday, November 18th. In front of a large crowd, the Knights defeated the visiting Lambton Lions 96-68. The team was led by second year guard Alex Campbell who recorded a game high 25 points.

Coming off a double overtime victory over the Redeemer Royals on Thursday night, the Knights came out focused against the Lions, taking a five point first quarter lead and never looking back.

The team played solid offensive basketball, shooting a 41% field goal percentage and 92% in free throws. The Knights capitalized on any opening given to them by the young Lions team.

Ashton Stephenson continued his strong play, recording 22 points and four assists in the victory, while third year guard Darian Rowe provided one of his strongest outputs of the season. The 6-foot-5 Vaughn, Ontario native recorded 10 points and five rebounds for the Knights.

The team has a few days off before travelling north to Sault St. Marie for a pair of contests next weekend. Saturday November 24th will see the Knights visit the 2-4 Sault College Cougars. The following day will see the Knights challenge the 4-2 Algoma University Thunderbirds.

The Knights' next home game is set for Sunday, December 2nd at 3:00pm when the team hosts the St. Clair Saints at the Welland campus athletic centre.
