Knights struggle to contain the Panthers

November 19, 2023. NORTH BAY.

The Knights men's basketball team fell short Sunday when they visited the Canadore Panthers. The Knights started the game off strong, winning the first quarter 24-22. However, the Knights struggled to contain Canadore on the defensive end in the second quarter, allowing the Panthers to score 29 points in the quarter alone to put them up 51-42 heading into halftime.

The Knights made a resurgence to start the second half, making the required defensive adjustments to slow down the Panthers' offense while also turning it up offensively to cut the Panthers' lead to just 7 to start the final quarter.

The fourth quarter was highly contested, but unfortunately for the Knights, the Panther's offense kept rolling despite the Knights' defensive efforts. The Panthers would go on to win the contest 89-81, bringing the Knights's record to 3-4 for the season.

The Knights will look to shake off their latest loss and get back on track when they face off against the visiting Redeemer Royals this Thursday, November 23, at 8:00 PM, at Niagara College's Simplii Financial Athletic Centre in Welland.
