Knights Men’s Basketball steamroll the Redeemer Royals

November 23, 2023, WELLAND.

The Knights men's basketball team thumped the visiting Redeemer Royals 100-50 Thursday night.

The Knights came out blazing in the first quarter, scoring 31 points in the quarter while locking up defensively to allow only 8 points. Niagara's offensive and defensive momentum carried into the second quarter where they proceeded to dominate the Royals on both ends of the floor. The Knights scored another 24 points and held the Royals to just 12 points in the second quarter to go into the half leading 55-20.

The second half of the game saw a slight resurgence from the Royals but their efforts were ultimately no match for the Knights's offense, as they continued to steamroll through the Royals to go on to win the game convincingly, 100-50. Leading the way for the Knights were Khayden Stewart and Raheem Dennis with 13 and 11 points respectively. Off the bench, guard Ethan Alino-DelaCruz had a game-high 16 points to go along with 4 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 steals in only 15 minutes on the floor.

This latest win brings the Knight's overall record to 4-4 for the season. Niagara will look to build on this win when they host the visiting Fanshawe Falcons this Sunday, November 26, at 3:00 PM at the Niagara College Simplii Financial Athletic Centre in Welland.
