The Niagara Knights women's basketball program (10-8, 6th OCAA West) had an impressive week as they started by facing the OCAA West's second place Humber Hawks. The Knights kept pace with the high-powered Hawks all game long as both teams scored 20 second quarter points to make the score 40-33 Humber at the half. After getting outscored by just six points in the second half, the Knights dropped the decision 67-53.

After the loss, the Knights then travelled to take on the UTM Eagles on Saturday on short rest. Multiple players stepped up and had huge games as the Knights shot 56.8% (42-74) from the field on route to a 103-64 stomping of the Eagles. It was one of the Knights most impressive offensive performances of the season as they scored more than 20 points in all four quarters, including 29 in the second quarter.

Bridget Atkinson (Welland) had a memorable game against Humber as the starting point guard finished with 23 points, five rebounds, six assists and an outstanding 12 steals.

Tia Stys (St. Catharines) also finished with double-digit points as the third year forward had 12 points and seven rebounds.

Stys finished with 17 points while Rysa Delmundo (Niagara Falls) and Alannah Yates (Hamilton) also had double-digit points with 13 and 15 points respectively.
