Knights Women's Basketball finishes back to back road games with a win over the Bruins

October 28, 2023. BRAMPTON.

The Knights women's basketball team is 1-1 on the road this season after picking up a win Saturday night against the Sheridan Bruins at the Davis Campus Gymnasium.

The Knights started off their stretch of back-to-back away games on Wednesday night when they visited the Humber Hawks. An early 12-point lead for the Hawks to close out the first quarter proved to be too much in the end, in a hard-fought game that saw the Knights drop their first game of the season 54-66.

The Knights didn't look to dwell on Wednesday's result, instead using it as motivation when they visited the Sheridan Bruins Saturday night and made a statement with a strong team performance that led them to a dominating 26-point win over the Sheridan Bruins.

The Knights took charge early, winning the first quarter 19-4 and pouring in another 13 points in the second to go up 32-12 at the half. They would not look back the rest of the game going on to win 59-33. Leading the way for the Knights were Taryn Mitchell with a team-high 12 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 steals, and Molly Taylor with 10 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists.

Next up for the Knights is a 6 p.m. home game against the Lambton Lions on Friday, November 3 at the Simplii Financial Athletic Centre on the Welland Campus.
