Knight’s Women’s Basketball builds momentum with a win over the Fanshawe Falcons

November 11, 2023, LONDON

The Knights women's basketball team extends their road winning streak earning another victory over the Fanshawe Falcons on their home court.  The Niagara Knights women's team came out strong to start the game outscoring the Falcons 30 points to 10 in the first quarter and finishing the quarter with a streak of 13 un-answered points.

The Knights started the second quarter strong scoring the first 5 points; however, the Falcons were not giving up and scoring 10 of their 17 points in that quarter within the last few minutes.  The Knights' strong play in the first half gave them a comfortable 52-27 lead at the half, although they may have gotten just a little bit too comfortable.

Fanshawe came back strong to start the second half, outscoring the Knights in the third and fourth quarters with 16 points to Niagara's 15 and 13 to Niagara's 12; however, it just was not quite enough to make the final comeback.

Niagara's team was led to the win by strong performances from Janee Harrison (21 points and 7 rebounds) and Taryn Mitchell (15 points, 9 rebounds, and 4 steals).  The Knights were also well supported from the bench with Diana Saoud contributing 10 points and 5 rebounds.

The Knights look to carry this momentum forward as the head to Conestoga on Wednesday for a 6pm tipoff before settling back at home for the last three games of the fall season.
