Knights Women's Volleyball Team Sweep The Panthers

The Niagara College Knights Women's Volleyball team shutout the Canadore College Panthers 3-0 (25-18, 25-12, 25-19) on Sunday afternoon in Welland.

Lindsay Murray (Welland, ON) had nine kills and nine aces for 18 points. Nicole Schoonderwoerd (Tavisock, ON) also had a strong game with seven kills, three aces, and four blocks for 14 points. Jenna Bray (Burlington, ON) also reached double-digits in scoring with nine kills, an ace, and a block for 11 points.

With two wins on the weekend, the Knights improved to 7-6 and moved into a tie for fourth-place in the OCAA West Region with the Sheridan College Bruins.

"We are a very young team with not a lot of experience and we are hoping that these two victories will leave our players hungry for more," said head coach Joey Martins.

The Knights, who have five games remaining in the regular season, will travel to Ancaster on Wednesday, February 1 to battle the Redeemer University College Royals (5-9). Niagara beat Redeemer 3-1 in the Knights' home opener back on November 9.

Game time is 6pm on Wednesday.
