Knights Women’s Volleyball Team Win Third-Straight Match

The Niagara College Knights Women's Volleyball team cruised to a 3-0 (25-15, 25-20, 25-14) win over the Redeemer University College Royals on Wednesday night in Ancaster.

The win, which was the Knights third in a row, improves their record to 8-6.

Marieka Ouimette (Spencerville, ON) led the Knights in scoring with seven kills and five blocks for 12 points.

"We played a very solid game shutting down their top two players, and playing a very good balance of smart and aggressive volleyball," said head coach Joey Martins.

"One thing that will never be on the stats sheet is the performance of setter Ava Sarkis (Welland, ON). The way she controlled the game was near flawless. Her location of sets was fantastic, her timing of who to set, and when to set them was bang on," he added.

The Knights are back in action this Friday when they host the Conestoga College Condors (6-9). Niagara shutout Conestoga 3-0 in their first meeting back on November 22 in Kitchener. The Condors come into the game having lost their last three matches.

Game time is 6pm at the new Athletic Centre at the Welland Campus.
