Men's Soccer Remains Undefeated at Home

Another home game for the Niagara College men's soccer team and another impressive win.  The Knights kept their undefeated home record alive with an impressive 3-2 win over the Fanshawe Falcons (1-4,7th West).

The Knights (3-2, 3rd West) opened the scoring in the first half when Carlos Williams (St. Catharines) buried a feed from Jordi Amores (St. Catharines) in the 28th minute.

Only three minutes into the second half, Andy Hein (Omemee) added another goal for the Knights when he converted a loose ball caused by Kyle Sheppard (Brampton) on a free kick.

A turnover in the middle of the pitch led to a Fanshawe goal by forward Cedric N'Guessan (New York).  Less than ten minutes later however, Keith Makubuya (St. Catharines) made the score 3-1 with his third goal of the season.  That goal gave Keith the team lead for goals scored and also moved him into a tie for 8th place in the OCAA.

Cedric N'Guessan added another late goal for Fanshawe but it was too little too late as the Knights held on for victory.  The three points moved the Knights up to third place in the OCAA West division, only trailing Humber and Sheridan.

Up next for the Niagara College men's soccer program is a Saturday, September 27th matchup versus the St. Clair Saints (2-0-2, 4th West). Kick-off is set for 4:00pm.
