On Thursday, January 22, the Niagara College men's volleyball (7-5, 6^th West) program will be hosting the Fanshawe Falcons (7-3, 5^th West).  Both teams are currently tied with 14 points each, however Niagara has played two more matches than Fanshawe so far.

The Falcons come into this matchup scorching hot, winning five straight matches and only dropping four sets during that span.  Their last win came against Conestoga (1-11, 9^th West) back on January 13.  With a nine day break in between games, the Falcons are sure to be well rested.

The Knights are winners of two straight, their latest coming against the Redeemer Royals (2-9, 8^th West) on January 16.  Niagara was led my third year outside hitter Jeff Scott (Georgetown), who recorded a season-high 20 points in the victory.  The pre-health science major earned SAC's male athlete of the week for his performance in that game.

This game will feature two of the top setters in the province, Steve Stone (St. Catharines) from Niagara and Jack Daley (North Bay) from Fanshawe.  Daley is second in the province averaging 9.40 assists per set, while Stone is fourth, averaging 9.22.

These two teams last met on December 4 at Fanshawe, a match Niagara lost 3-1.  The Knights lost a highly contested match, with set scores of 16-25, 25-22, 23-25, 21-25.  Fifth year middle blocker Aaron Vanderlugt (Burlington) had a team-high 11 points for the Knights in the loss.  Niagara is 5-1 at home, while Fanshawe is 2-2 on the road.  With a win, Niagara will be tied with St. Clair (8-3, 4^th West) in the standings with 16 points each.
