January 11, 2024

WELLAND, ONT:, The Niagara College men's volleyball team (8-4) took on the visiting Humber Hawks (7-5) in a rematch to start the second half of the season.  This time, the Knights came out victorious winning 3-1 (Set scores were 26-24, 25-22, 18-25 and 25-22).

The Knights came out to battle tonight with an electric crowd behind them.  Carter Thurman led the Knights into battle and came out with 24 assists, 5 digs, 2 kills, 2 service aces and 2 blocks.  Middle, Tyler Carmichael, had himself a game by adding 10 kills, 4 digs and 1 block while Micah Nieuwets and Mitch Churipuy chipped in defensively with a combined 30 digs.

Head coach of the Knights, Steve Stone, expressed that these "are the games that you love to be apart of.  This team is dialed in and playing with confidence, every single point."  Personally speaking, Stone continued to say that "as a coach, it makes me so proud that I don't even need to coach these boys, they know what they need to do and are capable of working through it together.  All around a great game from everyone and it starts with how the boys prepare themselves mentally and right now we are in a very good space."

The Knights' next game will see them travelling to Windsor, Ontario to play against the St. Clair Saints (8-3).
