RECAP: Knights fall to reigning CCAA Champs

RECAP: Knights fall to reigning CCAA Champs

It was a tough night at the office for the Niagara Knights women's basketball program (7-5) as the team was defeated 74-44 by the undefeated and reigning CCAA national champion Humber Hawks.

Niagara College women's basketball head coach Mike Beccaria felt difference in the contest was Humber's "physicality and defensive intensity" particularly in terms of rebounding, a stat that saw the Hawks dominate to the tune of a 68-41 margin.

Welland native Courtney McPherson (Confederation) led the Knights in both scoring (16 points) and rebounding (8).

The Knights will look to get back into the win column on Friday, January 27th when the team hosts the Sheridan Bruins (2-9) at the Welland Campus Atheltic Centre. Tip-off is set for 6:00pm and for those unable to be in attendance the game will be live streamed at www.goknights.ca/watchlive
