PREVIEW: Knights look to clinch playoff spot against George Brown

PREVIEW: Knights look to clinch playoff spot against George Brown

Saturday, October 17th at 3:00pm.
Centennial Park – Home of the Huskies

Knights Road Record: 2-2-0
Huskies Road Record: 1-3-0

With four teams still fighting for the final two spots in the tough OCAA Central region, every point now becomes crucial.  The Niagara College men's soccer (3-4-1, 3rd Central) program will be looking to clinch their third consecutive trip to the OCAA playoffs however, standing in their way Saturday afternoon is the tough George Brown Huskies (1-4-3, 6th Central).

Despite their record, the Huskies have a gone 1-1-2 in their last four contests and have only allowed eight goals against this entire season.  A defensively sound program, the Huskies are the only team to shutout the OCAA's highest scoring offence, preventing Humber from going undefeated this season.

The Knights are coming off a tough loss from Seneca, seeing the lead vanish with the wave of a referee's flag.  Niagara will need to regroup quickly as only four points separate the Knights and Huskies in the standings.

When these programs met earlier this year at Youngs SportsPlex, the Knights were able to pull away in a tough contest.  Behind goals from Andy Hein (Omemee) and Keith Makubuya (St. Catharines), the Knights won 2-1.
