Olivia Page and Mike Dagg named athletes of the week

Female athlete of the week - Olivia Page, Women’s Soccer

Welland native Olivia Page was named this week’s female athlete of the week after concluding her career as a Niagara Knight.  The recreation therapy major helped lead Niagara to its best season in program history.

After finishing the OCAA regular season with a 4-3-1 record, Page and the Knights qualified for the playoffs for the first time since 2010.

“It’s been a pleasure to coach Olivia,” said fifth-year head coach Frank DeChellis.  “She always works hard and will forever be a part of the Knights family.”

The two-time team captain completes her student-athlete career as the Knights all-time leader with 43 career games played.

Male athlete of the week: Michael Dagg, Men’s Soccer

Mike Dagg (Niagara Falls) has been named this week’s male athlete of the week.  The electrical engineering major played an important role for the Knights in their 1-0 win over Centennial Sunday afternoon.

That win helped the Knights qualify for their first OCAA championship in program history.

“Dagg proved to be our engine room during the match and kept the attacking mindset in place for us,” said head coach Frank DeChellis.  “His leadership on the field is unmatched.”

The Knights will now open the OCAA Championship against the Fanshawe Falcons on Thursday, October 29 at Centennial Stadium in Etobicoke.
