Thursday, November 13th will see the Niagara College women's basketball program face the Humber Hawks with first place in the OCAA West Division on the line. The matchup between the West's two undefeated teams serves as one of the premier matches in the first half of the women's basketball season.
The game will see a matchup between two of the premier guards in the OCAA West in Tara Giallonardo of Niagara and Cassandra Nofuente of Humber. Both players lead their respective teams in scoring and both are former members of OUA All-Rookie teams.
Giallonardo was outstanding during the Knights' November 8th victory over the Sheridan Bruins. The fifth-year Fonthill native finished the contest with 23 points, eight rebounds, five assists, and five steals. She was named OCAA women's basketball athlete of the week for her performance.
The two teams are averaging almost identical stat lines so far this season. The Knights are averaging 68 points on 34% shooting, and 57 rebounds per game. While the Hawks are averaging 74 points on 37% shooting, and 54 rebounds per game.
Tip-off for the matchup between the two undefeated teams is set for 6:00pm at the Humber Athletic Centre.
