NEWS: Impact outside hitter Jordan Koslowski joins women's volleyball program

It has been a fantastic start to the 2014-15 Niagara College women's volleyball season. The Knights possess a record of 10-3 and sit in third place in the OCAA West Division.

Wednesday, January 28th however, saw the Knights bolster their already impressive roster with the announcement of the addition of impact outside hitter Jordan Koslowski.

Koslowski is a native of Hamilton, Ontario. She stands at five-foot-ten, and previously competed as a member of the Mountain Volleyball Club (MVC), and Sherwood Secondary School volleyball teams.

"I chose Niagara College because the atmosphere on and off the volleyball court is very enthusiastic and positive" said Koslowski. "The school has outstanding facilities, and the volleyball program has great future goals, and these are things that I really want to be a part of."

Koslowski enjoyed breakout 2013 and 2014 seasons, which helped elevate her into one of the most sought after outside hitting prospects in the province. She was named to the 2014 Ontario Volleyball Association high performance training centre, was named MVP of the 2013-14 Hamilton high school all-star game, and was the MVC 17U scoring leader and 'closer' award winner.

"Jordan grew up playing for the Mountain Volleyball Club, one of the elite youth volleyball programs in Ontario" said Niagara College women's volleyball head coach Joey Martins. "She has received outstanding coaching and technical development training over the years, and as a result she has the potential to make an immediate impact at the post-secondary level."

Koslowski will enroll in the Niagara College one-year pre-health sciences program, and plans on taking the additional two-year occupational therapist assistant and physiotherapist assistant program.

"I want to excel in academics all three years that I am at Niagara" said Koslowski. "I plan on studying hard, making new friends, getting involved, and push myself to become a better player by improving all aspects of my game."

"I have seen Jordan play countless times over the last few seasons" said Niagara College women's volleyball head coach Joey Martins. "She is extremely talented, humble, and comes from a close knit and very supportive family. Over the entire recruitment process, it became very evident that Jordan and her entire family are a great fit for the Niagara College and Niagara College Knights family."
