Day 2 of the 2015 OCAA Women's Volleyball Championships at Redeemer University College in Ancaster, ON got underway with a match-up of two team coming off of dissapointing Day 1 loses. The #1 East ranked Georgian Grizzlies fell to the Durham Lords on opening day while the #2 West ranked Niagara Knights were swept by the Cambrian Golden Shield.
Both the Knights and Grizzlies were looking to keep their playoff dreams alive with a win in Game 5 of the Championships. The winner of of the morning match would advance to the Bronze Semi Final while the loser would be heading home.
Led by 1st team all-star Lucy McLay, the Knights ended the great season for the Georgian Grizzlies with a 3-0 win and will now wait to face the loser of the Redeemer/Humber match this evening. McLay had 16 kills, 1 ace, and 3 blocks in the win for the Knights. CCAA All-Canadian Hannah Campbell had a team high 8 kills for the Grizzlies.
Game scores were 26-24, 25-23, and 25-11.
