Knights lose to undefeated Hawks

ETOBICOKE, ONT:, The Niagara College women's volleyball team (6-4) took on the undefeated Humber Hawks (10-0) Thursday night with an unfortunate result for the Knights losing in straight sets (Set scores were 12-25, 17-25 and 11-25).

The Knights could not muster up enough fight to take down the Hawks as 3rd year setter, Rachael Bickford, led the charge with 8 assists and 3 digs.  Montanna Taylor, the 4th year setter who also plays the right side, contributed with 5 assists and 5 kills while also throwing in 7 digs.

When asked about the match, head coach Elaine Pilgrim-Susi stated "it was a valuable learning experience for us going up against the undefeated powerhouse, Humber Hawks.  We learned a lot about our ability to face adversity, show resilience as a team and the importance of never giving up."  Pilgrim-Susi continued on to say "we will use this opportunity to refine our skills and come back stronger when we face them again in the new year.  There are still a lot of games to be played in the season and we are looking forward to the successes that lie ahead."

The Knights' next game will see them come home to play against the Fanshawe Falcons (2-8) at the Simplii Financial Athletic Centre at the Niagara College Welland Campus.
