Knights Make it Three Straight

LONDON, ONT:, The Niagara College women's volleyball team (10-6) travelled into London, Ontario and came out with a big win against the Fanshawe Falcons (3-13) Saturday night.  The Knights put on a performance, as they found themselves with a 3-1 win (Set scores were 25-12, 18-25, 25-17 and 25-13)

The Knights came out charging and despite an unfortunate 2nd set, didn't give the Falcons much of a chance to fight back.  Kyleigh Baxter and Emmah Gmoser led the team into battle combining for 25 kills, 18 digs, 7 service aces and 3 assists – totalling 32 points in the match.  Montanna Taylor once again orchestrated the offence with 28 assists, 9 digs, 7 kills, 3 service aces and 1 block.  

Steve Stone, head coach for the Knights, alluded to the teams chemistry growing as the season will soon come to a close.  "The ladies came dialed in and ready to execute the game plan.  Despite dropping a set, they felt in control the whole game" Stone said.  Stone continued to comment that the team is "playing with some confidence, fire and focus.  Defensively the girls look awesome and offensively, it's all starting to look really nice!.

The Knights will head back onto the road after a quick stop at home as they get set to do battle with the Mohawk Mountaineers (9-7) who are hot on their heels in the OCAA West standings.  The action takes place on Wednesday, January 31st and you can watch live as you cheer on your Knights at www.ocaalive.com.
