January 13, 2024

WELLAND, ONT:, The Niagara College women's volleyball team (7-6) headed to Windsor over the weekend to take on a strong St. Clair Saints (10-2) team.  The Knights fell to the Saints in straight sets, losing 3-0 (Set scores were 17-25, 19-25 and 17-25).

The Knights could not gather enough energy for this matchup as the Saints controlled play from start to finish.  Rachael Bickford directed the Knights offense with 12 assists, 2 digs and 1 kill while Montanna Taylor led with 5 kills, 12 digs, 1 service ace and 1 block.

Steve Stone, head coach of the Knights, commended the Saints by saying "St. Clair is a tough opponent, but I'm happy with the girls' compete level."  He continued on to say that "we need to stop mid game runs for the other team and really start executing our systems which will come with time.  This group will keep learning and only get better each game, which I believe we're already proving."

The Knights' will continue their road trip and hope to get back into the win column as they take on the Conestoga Condors (8-4) on Thursday, January 18th.  Catch all the action and cheer on your Knights on OCAA Live.
