PREVIEW: Men's Basketball look to knock off the Saints in home opener

After opening the 2015-16 season with a pair of road victories over the Cambrian Golden Shield, the Niagara College men's basketball program will look to extend their unbeaten streak to three when the team hosts the tough St. Clair Saints on Sunday, November 1.

The Saints (1-1) knocked off the defending OCAA Champion Humber Hawks in overtime on October 25th. The two teams split the head-to-head matchup in 2014-15 and both teams are looking to improve on sub .500 records from a year ago.

The Knights are averaging 98.5 points-per-game so far and are led by veteran forward Marako Lundy (Nassau, Bahamas). The talented and athletic shooter is averaging 22 points in the first two games of the season. First-year shooting guard Alex Elliott (Welland) will also look to continue his hot hand from the perimeter. The Centennial graduate is averaging 13.5 points-per-game to start his OCAA career.

Tip-off for Sunday's matchup is set for 3:00pm at the Welland Campus Athletic Centre. Tickets can be purchased at the door for $5.00 while students and those under the age of 17 are admitted free. For those unable to be in attendance, all Knights home games are live streamed through www.goknights.ca/watchlive.
