Second place in the West division will be up for grabs on Saturday afternoon at the Welland Campus Athletic Centre as the Niagara Knights men's basketball program (7-3, 2nd OCAA West) host the Sheridan Bruins (7-2, 2nd OCAA West).

Statistically speaking the Knights and Bruins are setup to play a high-scoring high-tempo game. Niagara features the OCAA's second highest scoring offence averaging 88.1 points per game while Sheridan is averaging just a point less per game, sitting at an average of 87.1. The Knights are coming off their best offensive performance since the 2012-13 season, as they drained 105 points in a nine point victory over the Redeemer Royals (3-8, 8^th OCAA West) on January 8^th.

Niagara's reigning athlete of the week, Lequan Hylton (Mississauga) will look to follow-up his 28-point effort with another strong offensive output on Saturday. However, the key for the Knights will be to take care of the defensive end of the floor. Sheridan's offense leads the OCAA with only 11.2 turnovers per game, and sit second in the OCAA in both 3 point shots made (103) and offensive rebounds (19.6).

Last time the Knights and Bruins met, Sheridan came away with a thrilling 75-73 overtime victory in Brampton. Sheridan was able to force overtime with an improbable three pointer with two seconds remaining on the clock. The Bruins outscored the Knights 6-4 in extra frame to secure the two point win. Historically the Knights have not fared well against Sheridan, winning only eight times in 41 previous attempts. However, seven of those victories were on the Knights home court.  

Opening tip is slated for 3:00 pm at the Welland Campus Athletic Centre. Tickets can be purchased at the door for $5.00, while students and those under the age of 17 are admitted free. For those unable to be in attendance, all Knights home games are live streamed through www.goknights.ca/watchlive.
