One of the OCAA’s best setters, the second-year Recreation and Leisure Services student has been the team’s quarterback and key to success this season. With the win, the Knights improved to 7-0 when Davis recorded 30 or more assists in a match. At the conclusion of the regular season, Davis finishes second in the OCAA in assists per set, averaging 7.83 assists per set. She also ranks fifth in the OCAA in service aces, recording 0.77 service aces per set this season.

With the victory, the Knights clinched a bye through the first round of the playoffs. Niagara will now head to Canadore College in North Bay for the OCAA Championships from February 25-27. The Knights will open up the tournament on February 25th at 3:00 pm against the Trent Excalibur (16-4, 3rd OCAA East).

Male Athlete of the Week – Marako Lundy, Men’s Basketball

Marako Lundy (Nassau, Bahamas) of the Niagara Knights men’s basketball program (12-16, 5th OCAA West) has been named this week’s male athlete of the week. Lundy was tremendous in the Knights victory over the visiting Humber Hawks (13-5, 3rd OCAA West) on Friday night.

Lundy, a fourth-year Recreation and Leisure Services student, recorded a season high 25 points en route to a 78-71 Knights victory over the Hawks to close out the regular season. In just over 31 minutes of action, Lundy was all over the floor adding six assists, five rebounds, and two steals. Although the Knights ended the season in a winning note, they will now hit the road for the first round of the OCAA playoffs. Finishing in the west division’s fifth position, the Knights await the final results in East division to determine who their first round playoff opponent will be.
