RECAP: Women's basketball improve to 1-1

Wednesday, October 25th saw the Niagara College women's basketball program defeat the University of Toronto-Mississauga Eagles 77-57.

For the second consecutive game the veteran duo of Courtney Kilyk (Fonthill) and Mary Ingribelli (St. Catharines) paced the Knights. Ingribelli finished with 18 points, seven rebounds, and five assists, while Kilyk turned in 11 points, five assists, eight rebounds.

Also providing strong performances  for Niagara were a pair of second year standouts in Hope Brown and Tia Stys who both finished with 10 points.

"Tonight was a very good win against a young but very tough opponent" said Niagara College women's basketball head coach Mike Beccaria. "Mary and Court were still leading the way but it was great to see Hope and Tia score in double figures."

The win evens the Knights record at 1-1 on the season. Up next the team will travel London to take on the Fanshawe Falcons on November 2nd.
