PREVIEW: Knights set to face first place Hawks

PREVIEW: Knights set to face first place Hawks

Tuesday, September 29th at 6:30pm.
Centennial Park Stadium.

After playing three games in six days, the women's soccer (1-2-1, 4th Central) program now faces the difficult task of playing the undefeated Humber Hawks (3-0-1, 1st Central) on the road.

The season opener for the Knights was against the Hawks, a contest they lost 2-1.  Second-year midfielder Nicole Evans (Chatham) scored her first career goal in the loss.

The Hawks are coming off a 3-0 win over the University of Toronto Mississauga Eagles (0-3-1, 6th Central).

The Hawks sit atop the central division despite only scoring seven goals in four contests.  Former OUA goalkeeper Jenna Vasiliaskis (Burlington) is allowing only 1.00 goals-per-game and currently has the Knights on a two-game unbeaten streak.  If Beamsville native Jackie Lawther (currently ranked fifth in the OCAA in scoring) can continue to find the back of the net, than the Knights will have a real chance at creating an upset and continuing their streak.
