After a one year hiatus, the Niagara College men's basketball (8-10, 6^th West) program is headed back to the OCAA playoffs.  On Saturday, February 28^th the Knights will be on the road to play Seneca College (13-7, 3^rd East) in the OCAA crossover qualifier.  The winner of this game will earn a spot in the 2014-15 OCAA men's basketball provincial championship hosted by Durham College from March 6-8.

After winning only three games last season, the Knights return to the post-season under first year head coach Keith Vassell.  After getting off to a slow start, Niagara ended the season winning five of their last six games and squeezing their way into the final playoff spot.

The Knights are coming off a 99-76 win over the Sheridan Bruins (7-11, 7^th West) in front of a large home crowd, filling the Welland Campus Athletic Centre with a playoff-like atmosphere.  First year point guard Lequan Hylton (Mississauga) finished the game with 17 points and eight assists, earning OCAA male athlete of the week for his efforts.

Seneca is led offensively by Felix Adjei, who is ranked third in the OCAA in scoring averaging 22.4 points per game.

Niagara resumed their winning ways when forward Marako Lundy (Bahamas) rejoined the program.  In eight games this season, Lundy has averaged 15.9 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game. 

These two programs are evenly matched on paper and should reward the Seneca crowd with an entertaining game.

Tip-off is scheduled for 6:00pm.
