PREVIEW: Men's volleyball headed to Sudbury

The undefeated Niagara Knights men's volleyball program will head north to Sudbury this weekend for a pair of matches against the Cambrian Golden Shield (0-3) and Boreal Vipers (1-2).

The Knights will face Cambrian on Saturday, November 7th with first serve set for 8:00pm. The Knights are 11-4 all-time against the Golden Shield, including victories in their last 10 meetings.  The Knights will face the Boreal Vipers just 24 hours later and will look to remain unbeaten (6-0) against their Sudbury based opponents.

First-year standout Matt Friesen has been a major factor in the Knights' early season success lining up at both the libero and leftside positions. The six-foot native of Grunthal, Manitoba gives the Knights stellar defense, leading the team in digs with 25, while also averaging 2.17 points-per-set in the two matches that he has seen time at the outside hitter position. Friesen was named a conference all-star in the Manitoba College Athletic conference in 2014-15.

The Knights are currently ranked #1 in the OCAA and #3 in the CCAA. First-serve for Sunday's match against Boreal is set for 3:00pm.
