RECAP: Niagara drops final contest before OCAA Championship

The Niagara Knights men's volleyball program (14-4, 2nd OCAA West) dropped their final match before the OCAA Championships to wrap up the regular season. The Knights fell 3-0 (26-28, 20-25, 14-25) to the Sheridan Bruins (13-5, 4th OCAA West) in Oakville.

The Knights struggled to find their rhythm, as the nationally ranked Bruins applied consistent pressure with a strong service game and stingy defense. The Bruins out dug the Knights 27-11 in the match. Offensively Nathan Snippe (St. Anns), playing in his final regular season game as a Knight, was one of the lone bright spots. Snippe recorded 11 kills and one block in the match.

Having already wrapped up a berth in the OCAA Championships, the Knights will enjoy a two week break to prepare for the tournament. As the defending champions, Niagara is looking to put on a repeat performance and win back-to-back championships for the first time since claiming gold in 2000 and 2001. The OCAA Championship is being hosted by Seneca College from February 25-27.
