PREVIEW: Men's volleyball look to extend winning streak to six

Saturday, November 14th will see the CCAA No. 3 ranked Niagara College men's volleyball program host the Sheridan Bruins at 3:00pm at the Welland Campus Athletic Centre. The Knights enter the contest as the top-ranked team in the OCAA and are riding a five game winning streak to open the season.

The Knights have swept each of their last four outings, a trend that the talented Bruins (2-3) will surely be looking to snap. The Bruins have run the OCAA equivalent of the gauntlet to open their 2015-16 season. Sheridan has faced nationally ranked Mohawk, Fanshawe, and Humber in the early going, so their sub .500 record is not reflective of the talent and skill level of the team.

The Knights will look to their veteran outside hitter combo of Jeff Scott (Georgetown) and Nathan Snippe (St. Anns) on Saturday. Snippe leads the Knights in scoring in 2015. The towering six-foot-eight rightside ranks second in the OCAA West division in point-per-set with 3.7. Fourth year starter Jeff Scott, who recently moved into fourth place on the Knights' all-time scoring list, sits just behind Snippe in scoring at 3.2 points-per-set.

The Knights are an impressive 18-7 all-time against their Oakville counterparts but the two teams split a pair of meetings during last season. The Knights were defeated 3-0 on November 26th before rallying with a three set sweep of their own on February 12th.

First serve for Saturday's matchup is set for 3:00pm. Tickets for the general public are $5.00, but free for all Niagara College students and those under the age of 17. For those unable to be in attendance, all Niagara Knights home games are live broadcasted via www.goknights.ca/watchlive.
