Women's Volleyball Look for Third Straight Win

On Wednesday, November 20th the Niagara College women's volleyball program will look for their third straight win when the team travels to Ancaster to take on the Redeemer University College Royals. The Knights currently sit in a tie for third place in the OCAA West Division.

The key for the Knights during the early stages of the 2013-14 season has been team defense. At the net the Knights are led by first-year outside hitter Maddi Morgan and third-year middle blocker Alex Botelho.

The five-foot-nine Morgan currently leads the OCAA in blocks with 19. Morgan is a native of Whitby, and is currently enrolled in the Niagara College recreation and leisure studies program. She also currently ranks second in the OCAA with 19 service aces, and is among the top fifteen in digs.

Third-year team captain Alex Botelho brings experience and athleticism to the Knights. The Stoney Creek native stands at six-foot and has 14 blocks on the season.

In the backcourt, Knights defenders Megan Henderson and Kayde Bailey have the ability to keep balls in play. Henderson currently sits in third in the OCAA in digs with 92, while Bailey has recorded 72 digs in six matches this season.

First sereve for the match against Redeemer is set for 6:00pm.
