Women's Volleyball Fall 3-1 to Redeemer

Women's Volleyball Fall 3-1 to Redeemer

Wednesday, January 29th saw the Niagara College women's volleyball program suffer a hard fought loss to the OCAA West's third seed Redeemer Royals. The set scores in the contest were 23-25, 25-11, 25-14, 25-19.

The loss drops the Knights to 5-10 on the season, and keeps the team two points out of the sixth and final playoff position in the OCAA West Division.

After the match Niagara College women's volleyball head coach Joey Martins commented "tough game against one of the top teams in the province. They were a tall team, and were a strong blocking team and we were unable to overcome that tonight."

The Knights have three regular season matches remaining against the St. Clair Saints, Boreal Vipers, and Cambrian Golden Shield. A chance of making the playoff still exists, but the Knights will need strong showings in all three matches to keep their post-season hopes alive.

The team will return to action on Sunday, February 2nd when the team travels to Windsor to take on the St. Clair College Saints. First-serve is set for 1:00pm.
