The Niagara College women's basketball program is proud to announce the addition of St. Catharines forward Emily Naccarato. Naccarato is a graduate of the Holy Cross Raiders high school team and is a member of the strong No Limit Performance basketball training program.
"Emily is a player that we have been recruiting over the last two years, and we are thrilled that she has elected to join our program" said Niagara College women's basketball head coach Mike Beccaria.
The five-foot-eleven forward will enroll in the Niagara College police foundations program beginning in September of 2015. Naccarato was a key member of the No Limit Performance senior girls' team that captured the 2015 Canadian Youth Basketball League championship.
"Niagara College has a welcoming and friendly atmosphere that has always really appealed to me" said Naccarato. "I know that the police foundations course is an excellent program and that will provide me with the background knowledge I need to become an effective police officer."
Naccarato's greatest asset is her natural athleticism. Beccaria feels that she is "one of the best athletes in this year's graduating class." Standing at nearly six feet, she has the size and athletic ability to play a variety pf positions at the OCAA level.
The 18 year old Naccarato lists her goals in a Knights uniform as "becoming a more well round student, becoming a contributing member of the women's basketball program, and improving my overall game to the best of my ability."
The Niagara College women's basketball program will open tryouts on Wednesday, September 9th at 5:30pm at the Welland Campus Athletic Centre. The team will also serve as hosts of the 2016 OCAA Women's Basketball Championship being held at the Welland campus athletic centre from March 3-6, 2015.
