Men's Volleyball Ranked #2 in Canada

Men's Volleyball Ranked #2 in Canada

Despite being just three games into the 2013-14 season, the Niagara College men's volleyball program is making noise on the national stage. Tuesday, November 5th saw the release of the first CCAA men's volleyball national rankings, and the Niagara College Knights opened the season ranked second in the nation.

The Knights are off to a 3-0 start to the regular season, and have yet to drop a set in OCAA league play. Additionally, including exhibition play, the Knights have won their last eight matches, and captured a gold medal at the Seneca Sting Challenge on October 18th.

Niagara College men's volleyball head coach Nathan Groenveld commented "it's an honour for our program to be recognized in the national rankings. We had a strong recruiting class this summer, but at the end of the day these are just rankings and in the ultra-competitive OCAA West Division, you need to compete in every match at the highest level in order to be successful."

Up next for the Knights will be a matchup between two of Canada's premier men's volleyball programs. Thursday, October 7th will see the team travel to Humber College to take on the CCAA's number five ranked Hawks. First serve is set for 8:00pm.
