Top-Ranked Knights Volleyball to Face Humber

Top-Ranked Knights Volleyball to Face Humber

Thursday, November 7th will see two of the best men's volleyball programs in the country square off with first place in the competitive OCAA West Division on the line.

The Number two ranked Niagara College Knights will face the number five ranked Humber Hawks at the Humber Athletic Centre.

The Knights are off to a 3-0 start in regular season play, and have won their last eight matches including a victory at the Seneca Sting Challenge on October 18th.

The two evenly matched programs split a pair of matches during the 2012-13 season, and during 2013-14 pre-season play the Knights edged out a five-set victory during the Seneca Tournament.

The Knights will lean on their veteran outside hitter combo of Daniel Groenveld (Welland) and Jeff Scott (Georgetown) for their offensive attack, while defensively the team will look for the continued strong net defense of middle blockers Logan Varga (Brantford) and Travis Waite (St. Thomas).

The passing game of the Knights will be anchored by a pair of impact first-year players in setter Ricky Brar and libero Bailey Cochrane.

First-serve for the matchup between the top two ranked teams in the OCAA is set for 8:00pm.
